Included are his family Bible, a manuscript notebook in his hand containing an essay "Christian Obedience" and personal accounts 1868-1880; printed record of the court proceedings in the contested congressional election case in 1882 of Massey vs. Wise (John S.); two pamphlets, 1882 and 1900 entitled "Letters of the Hon. John E. Massey ... to the Readjusters of Virginia", 1882, and "The Introductory Sermon ... Before ... The Albemarle Baptist Association", 1901; a legal brief and a copy book of poetry in the hand of Walter William Massey.
